See What A Student Said To The Minister Of Education In An Open Letter Over School Resumption

A student of the Great institution of Ile-Ife, Obafemi Awolowo University, in Osun State, has written an open letter to the Federal Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

 

He posted this on his Twitter account today Monday, 20th July, 2020, and tweeted “An Open Letter To The Nigerian Minister Of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

The name of the student is Ayeka Bright, who is recognized to be a student of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development.

 

Since the Federal Government has stopped the reopening of schools for the time being, he then explained how this decision has affected the educational sector of the country.

 

In his letter, he said that the Federal Minister should not respond to the pressures from students and stakeholders as regarding the reopening of schools, as he mentioned that those suggestions are irrelevant.

 

He thus urge the Minister to make use of the advice from the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

 

He thus gave an opinion and a suggestion for the resumption, he said that the way forward for the Federal Republic of Nigeria is for the Ministry to make school resumption next year, suggested 20th of March, 2021.

 

Since the nationwide lockdown began in March, he made the suggestion such that the break will lapse a year.

 

This means that by March 20, 2021, the break for all students would have been a year.

 

And in the course of this, he suggested that all academic activities, which include admission processes for the 2020/2021 session, and all internal and external examinations should be suspended until the resumption day.
