So I just finished “The Evil Lawyer” and I have to be honest with you. This show had potential, and then it kind of… didn’t do anything with it. I went in expecting a solid crime drama about a lawyer trying to clear his name while working with someone morally questionable. What I got was one episode that felt more like a pilot than an actual finished product.
Let me back up. I know this is technically a returning series, which means there’s more coming. But right now, in 2026, we only have one episode to work with. And that one episode doesn’t give us much.
Season 1
Okay so here’s what happens. We’ve got Jittri, this cutthroat lawyer who works for some sketchy clients. Think the kind of guy who would defend basically anyone if the money was right. Then we meet Mek, a young attorney who gets framed for something really bad. He needs help, so he goes to Jittri, who agrees to take his case.
That’s basically it. That’s the whole episode. We get introduced to these characters, we see that Mek is in trouble, and we see that Jittri is going to help him. There’s mention of an ex-girlfriend named Ang who’s supposedly coming into the picture. But we don’t actually see that happen yet.
The cast is fine. Rhatha Phongam plays Mek and he does the “desperate young guy in over his head” thing well enough. Nat Kitcharit is Jittri, and he’s got that cool, detached vibe down. You believe he’s the kind of lawyer who doesn’t care about ethics. The other cast members don’t really get much to do in episode one, which is part of the problem.
Here’s my main issue though. One episode isn’t enough to judge whether this show actually works. The setup is interesting. A framed lawyer. A morally compromised defense attorney. The promise of uncovering truth while navigating the legal system. All of that sounds good in theory. But we haven’t seen any of it actually happen yet.
I’m not going to rate this show poorly because it hasn’t started yet. That 0/10 on TMDB is ridiculous, by the way. But I’m also not going to pretend this first episode knocked my socks off. It’s a setup. A beginning. Nothing more.
If you’re thinking about watching this, my advice is to wait. Wait until we get a few more episodes. Then we’ll actually know if this is worth your time or if it’s just another crime show that peaks in the first episode and goes nowhere. Have you watched it yet, or are you still on the fence?
